Washing machine doesn't drain?
Don't panic. Below you'll find the most common causes, what you can safely check yourself, and when it's time to call a technician.
Possible causes
Water remaining in the drum is usually caused by a clogged drain pump, a kinked drain hose, or a blocked pump filter full of lint, hair or small objects.
What you can check yourself
Turn off the machine and unplug it first. Locate the pump filter, usually behind a small hatch at the bottom front, and clean it thoroughly. Also check that the drain hose isn't kinked or pinched behind the machine.
When do you call a technician?
If the filter is clean and the hose is straight but the problem continues, the drain pump itself may be defective and require a technician's attention.
