Washing machine doesn't spin?

Possible causes
Failure to spin can be caused by an overloaded or unevenly distributed load, a clogged drain preventing spinning for safety reasons, or a worn carbon brush in the motor.
What you can check yourself
Distribute the laundry evenly and check that the drain filter isn't blocked, since most machines won't spin while water remains due to safety features.
When do you call a technician?
If the problem persists with a light, even load and a clean filter, there is likely a technical fault with the motor, drive belt or electronics.
