Washing machine leaks water?

Possible causes
A leaking washing machine is often caused by a loose or damaged supply hose, a worn door seal, or a clogged drain filter pushing water back instead of draining it. Excessive detergent dosing can also cause excessive foam, which leaks out via the soap drawer or door seal.
What you can check yourself
First check that the supply and drain hoses are properly attached to both the tap and the machine, and look for visible cracks or kinks in the hoses. Then check the door seal for cracks, dirt or limescale, as this is the most common place where leaks occur.
When do you call a technician?
If the leak keeps returning after checking the hoses, door seal and dosing, this often points to an internal problem such as a broken pump or a leaking drum seal, requiring a technician.
