Dryer overheats or smells of burning?
Don't panic. Below you'll find the most common causes, what you can safely check yourself, and when it's time to call a technician.
Possible causes
Excess heat or a burning smell usually results from accumulated lint deeper in the system, a blocked air channel, or a heating element no longer regulating properly.
What you can check yourself
Switch off the dryer immediately, let it cool fully, and clean the lint filter and accessible air channels before using again.
When do you call a technician?
If you repeatedly smell burning or the dryer overheats structurally, stop using it until a technician has inspected it, to prevent fire risk.
