Excessive ice buildup is often caused by a door that doesn't seal properly, a damaged door seal, or opening the door too often and for too long.
What you can check yourself
Check the door seal thoroughly for cracks and ensure the door seals evenly all around. Try to keep the door open as briefly as possible.
When do you call a technician?
If ice buildup continues despite an intact seal and normal use, the automatic defrost function may be defective.
